Sugar Mountain Ski Resort located in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina is open today, Sunday, November 2nd for skiing and snowboarding. This marks the second earliest opening on record; just behind the Halloween opening two years ago. “It’s exciting to get the winter season started early,” said Owner & President Gunther Jochl.

The newly anticipated intermediate level slope features a variety of changing terrain. Situated on nine acres, Gunther’s Way is 150 feet wide and 2,900 feet long.
Sugar Mountain Resort’s 24th annual Oktoberfest will be held October 11th & 12th. Take in the beautiful fall foliage, cool, comfortable mountain temperatures and a weekend full of Oktoberfest activities from 10:00am – 5:00pm each day.
