At various times throughout the season, kids can enjoy bumping into Sugar Bear, the Sugar Mountain mascot, throughout the property or on the slopes. Every year, the Snowsports School hosts a birthday celebration for Sugar Bear who invites his friends and the public to participate. Activities include the Great Bear Race, special treats, and cake and ice cream.
Another fun treat for the kids is the visit of Santa Claus during the holiday season. He can be found walking around the lodge greeting people and even out on the slopes making some turns.
Operation and event dates and details are subject to change at any time due to weather and other variables.
Our lift equipment requires routine maintenance. Although every precaution is taken; in rare cases, grease may drip from lift equipment. Sugar Mountain Resort is not responsible for grease on clothing or equipment. This is an inherent risk of the sport. The speed of lifts may be reduced due to wind or other factors.
