Sugar Mountain Resort’s thirteenth annual SugarFest lights up winter in Western North Carolina from December 18th through the 20th with Olympic figure skating medalist, Paul Wylie and two-time Olympic alpine skiing medalist, Diann Roffe.
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort is back open. Guests can expect to ride the Summit Express chairlift to Sugar’s peak servicing the Northridge, Switchback, Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes. Six to twenty inches of manmade packed powder and frozen granular snow cover the slopes. The full day session runs from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm. The half-day session begins at 12:30 and ends at 4:30 pm. Twilight sessions begin at 12:30 and end at 10:00 pm. The night session operates from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort’s Summit Express ribbon cutting ceremony was celebrated by Governor McCrory and a large crowd of winter fun enthusiasts under cold, clear blue skies, and a picturesque man-made snow covered ground on Saturday, November 14th.
Sugar Mountain Ski Resort located in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina is open today for skiing and snowboarding. “Today’s opening follows yesterday’s magical ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration of the Summit Express chairlift.
