Press Releases
Today, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort launches its 49th season. The Summit Express is open and runs to the mountain’s peak. It services the Northridge, Switchback, Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes. The Magic Carpet area and lift are open for beginner’s and first-timers. Skiers and snowboarders can expect a six to thirty inch base on a man-made powder and frozen-granular surface. The full-day session runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The half-day shift begins at 12:30 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.
This season skiers and snowboarders will be excited about a slew of improvements, upgrades, and additions awaiting their arrival at Sugar Mountain Resort.
Not everyone appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated or skis their way to winning two Olympic medals, except of course, Andrew Weibrecht, who will be joining Sugar Mountain Resort’s preseason ski clinic coaching staff December 7-9. Nicknamed the Warhorse for the way he attacks the mountain, Andrew will spend each day up-close and personal with participants.
From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., October 13 & 14, Sugar Mountain Resort hosts its 28th annual Oktoberfest celebration.
