Boone Man First To Ski Sugar Mountain This Season

SUGAR MOUNTAIN, NC – Wade Lovejoy of Boone, North Carolina was Sugar Mountain Resort's first skier for the 2008-2009 season.   Each year Sugar Mountain Resort rewards its first paying customer a complimentary full-day lift/slope ticket.

Sugar Mountain Ski Resort in North Carolina opened for skiing and snowboarding at 9:00 am on Monday, November 17, 2008.  A manmade and natural packed powder surface covers the Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes with the Summit Lift #1 in operation to the 3/4's station.

With forecasters predicting cold temperatures accompanied by sporadic snow showers throughout the week, look for Easy Street and Northridge to open and night skiing to be available by the end of the week.

Sugar's 10,000 square foot outdoor ice rink www.skisugar.com/skating is scheduled to open on Saturday, November 22, 2008.

For more information please call 800-SUGAR-MT or view our website www.skisugar.com  for slope and weather conditions.
