Sugar Mountain Resort Opens For Skiing And Snowboarding
SUGAR MOUNTAIN, NC – Sugar Mountain Resort in North Carolina opens for skiing and snowboarding at 9:00 am on Monday, November 17, 2008. Historical opening and closing data as well as recorded annual natural snowfall can be found at www.skisugar.com/press/stats.
Snowmaking began on Saturday, November 15th at 3 pm and continues. A manmade and natural powder surface covers the Upper and Lower Flying Mile slopes with the Summit Lift #1 in operation to the 3/4's station. With forecasters predicting cold temperatures accompanied by sporadic snow showers throughout the week, look for Easy Street and Northridge to open and night skiing to be available by the end of the week.
Lift/slope ticket prices are $25 for a full day session and $20 for a half-day session. For a real time look at the slopes through the live, streaming web cam please log on to www.skisugar.com/sugarlive.
Sugar’s 10,000 square foot outdoor ice rink www.skisugar.com/skating is scheduled to open on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
